The journey of a 22 year old spending his days and nights studying for the brutal Certified Public Accounting Exam. Considering I am going to reach 150 hours after this semester, I will be able to sit for the Exam starting this summer of 2020. Am I excited? Hell no! Every time I mention the CPA exam to anyone, they look at me as if I’m a nerd or apologize to me as if they had anything to do with me choosing this career path. In roughly two years from now, hopefully less, I will be able to call myself a CPA and put those 3 extra letters after my name. Sounds lame as fuck, I get it. But this has been a goal that I set for myself when I decided on my major/career and I’m not going to quit after 5 years of school and taking on student loans.

I plan to update my progress of the studying that I do and the issues I arrive at. I tell you what, the price of the whole process is fucking ridiculous. For those who do not know the fees for applying for the exams, sitting for the exams and the current years study material costs between $3500 and $5500, depending on which study material or company you choose. So off the bat, I am already in debt just to have the opportunity to become a CPA. The personal investment in my own future so cant complain.
